1. Personal Donation

Personal donations may be made through cash, check, credit card, or money order. You may also donate online via the donation links. The AAHRC is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and most donations are tax deductible.

2. In Memoriam Giving

Make a donation in honor of a family member, loved one, or friend. Once the donation is received, the AAHRC will notify the family of your considerate gift. (We will not disclose the amount of the gift without your consent).

3. Scholarship Donation

Make an investment in our children's future. Each year the AAHRC awards scholarships to local high-school seniors to aid in their quest to attend college. Students are required to submit applications that include their transcript, test scores, recommendations, and an original essay. The minimum scholarship donation accepted is $500 and an additional $50 fee is added per scholarship to help offset the administrative costs.

4. Event Sponsorship Donation

Make a Donation.  Each year the AARHC promotes numerous events in the community, many admission-free and others to raise money for our annual scholarship fund. Consider underwriting the cost of one of our programs - the Youth Pow-Wow, the MLK Awards Banquet, the Talent Show, the Turkey Give-a-Way, the Community Clean-ups, the Parent Forum, or more.

5. Planned or Estate Giving

Consider giving through will, trust, retirement or insurance benefits. Please seek legal and financial advice on the benefits of planned giving. The AAHRC can be added as an estate beneficiary by listing as Athens Area Human Relations Council, Inc., PO Box 495, Athens, GA 30603-0495.  For Planned or Estate Giving, please contact AAHRC President, Hattie Lawson, at (706) 207-9010.

6. General Membership

Join the Human Relations Council in our quest to promote positive and unified human relations in Athens and surrounding areas. Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of each month.  Membership dues are $60 per year.

7. Honorary Membership Donation

Like what the Human Relations Council stands for? Like to help out but don’t have time to make all the meetings? Add your name to our cause by becoming an honorary member of the AAHRC and be kept informed of all our decisions and upcoming events. (Please note that honorary members have no voting privileges.
